The Promising Indian Society, with ONGC CSR initiative, inaugurated the PM WANI Public Wi-Fi network under the PM WANI (Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) project at Palodiya and Unali Gram Panchayat in Gandhi Nagar, Gujarat. This ambitious initiative is a crucial step towards realizing the Digital India mission envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Following his directions to provide Wi-Fi connectivity to every household, the PM WANI scheme aims to install two crore Wi-Fi hotspots across the country by 2024.
As part of this PM WANI project, Promising Indian Society, with support from ONGC CSR, has installed Wi-Fi access points in 25 gram panchayats and PHCs (Public Health Centers) in the Gandhi Nagar region. Local residents can now avail one GB of free high-speed data daily from their nearest access points.
The inauguration ceremony of this program was conducted by Promising Indian Society in the presence of Chief Guest Mrs. Rishita Shah. Distinguished guests present at the occasion included Ms. Reena Jetly (Independent Director, ONGC), Mr. Kuldeep Mukherjee (Group General Manager – Surface Manager, ONGC), Mr. Prajwal Duwarah (CGM – HR, ONGC), Ms. Prerna Singh (Founder President, Promising Indian Society), Mr. Shashi Bhushan Singh (Secretary General, Promising Indian Society), and other esteemed attendees.
