“Even the smallest of the achievements will seem very big when you work in a procession you always wanted to work in.”
Our readers would like to know about your academic achievements and your interest in acting?
I have done post graduate in social welfare and diploma in human rights. My interest was towards social work so I chose this subject.
Are you active in social service too?
yes, I have worked in multiple NGO’S. Even as a councillor I have worked in a lot of NGO’s…I have observed a lot of rescued children’s lives…I really want to make their life better in future
How has been your professional journey from your inital days of acting to being an acting of different TV Serial?
Acting wasn’t my first profession, before this I was a radio jockey, but when I started acting, I felt amused…because in this way, I can live multiple lives in a single life. I started getting a few projects and then I felt that even acting has techniques, and specifications which without learning one can’t act nicely and hence I started learning acting, I joined a theatre…this ways I started acting professionally.
TV serial is a place where you have to get into your character pretty fast, the challenges of serials is more because here you have to prepare pretty big scripts in a very less time…But this experience is a feeling of its kind, where you have to play a character, feel it while having a very less time for preparation.
what were the challenges you faced to act in ur first movie ‘’Mera Ram Rajya Nayi Kranti’’?
“Mera Ram Rajya Nayi Kranti” was my first project. Before this I worked as a Radio Jockey in a Radio Channel. While I was working as a RJ, I got an offer for this film via social media. After all the required processes I got selected, this is how it became my first project. But while working for this project I understood that if I want to be an actor then I should learn acting, and hence I left my job and started giving time to learn bits of acting.
why you chose your Professional career as an actor in Bollywood?
I think that if you dont have any problems with your current profession being important for your responsibilities then you should do what you love. Because, then you will get internal happiness and peace. You will work with all your will and you will not get tired of your work. Even the smallest of the achievements will seem very big when you work in a profession you always wanted to work in.
what were the reaction of your family when they came to know about your decision to became an actor?
I am born and brought up in Patna. When I was in college, then in a college function as a chief guest a director was invited. He was then directing a theatre play called “Romeo-Juliet”. He approached me for Juliet’s character. I even went for the practice for few days. He even offered me a character in his next TV serial for the channel E TV Bihar. My parents said no and hence I couldn’t do it. Whatever I am right now, I give all credits to my husband for that. He was the one who insisted me to go to my first shoot. He told me that I keep getting offers related to acting…what if its my destiny. Yes, for sometime my parents and relatives were against this career, but nothing really matters to me than his(my husband’s) full support.
You were pretty active in theatre too, What are the benefits of theatre in your acting career?
Theatre teaches you to honestly live in the character. Theatre teaches an artist honesty, punctuality, discipline, group work spirit, respect to everyone, which not only helps in your acting career but also helps in refining your personality. Acting in front of an audience builds confidence in oneself.
How was your experience while working as RJ. Please share some of your achievements?
Sitting in the studio as an RJ and talking to your listeners is an experience of its own. Studio seemed like clear sky to me where I can fly as high as possible. When you are expressing your emotions you dont know who is listening, and as a listener, there is always a constant excitement on who is behind the voice. Also the thing is not scripted so its definitely a very different yet beautiful experience. I used to be an RJ for my show called Filmy Halchal, which used to get broadcasted for 2 hours in morning.
Who supported you in your career the most?
As I told earlier, I give all credits to my husband for my career. He supported me in every step of my career. He values all my decision for my career, he motivates me and all the negative thoughts that arises in my head for my profession, he keeps it all way too far from me. He is even my well wisher. He is a DGM (Deputy General Manager) in NTPC (National Thermal Power Co-operation) and hence he doesn’t relate even a bit to my career but still he understands my work way too nicely…all the ups and downs of it.
who inspired you the most in life?
Everyone who with their hard work, self believe, and dedication broke all the barriers and cleared all the obstacles to live the life they dreamt of. Saying name of only a few would be wrong, but if you ask me with whose personality I get inspired the most then it would surely be Sir Ratan Tata.
