Dr. Simranjeet Kaur, a Jalandhar-based advocate, social activist, and author, is dedicated to child protection system and legal awareness. As the founder and president of Daat Foundation (Charitable Trust), she actively works to protect children from sexual offenses. She has spread awareness and sensitization on POCSO among 800 teachers, parents, and students, fostering a child-friendly society. Through webinars, seminars, training programs, volunteer initiatives, campaigns and social media, she continues to drive meaningful change. With a strong commitment to awareness, prevention, and support, Dr. Kaur empowers communities to stand against abuse and ensure a safe, nurturing future for every child.

Currently, organization is deeply committed to the “Safe Childhood, Safe Nation” mission, with a specific emphasis on protecting children from sexual offenses under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012.
As part of this mission, Daat Foundation is actively engaged in onducting following programs:
Organizing awareness and sensitization programs: Daat Foundation is targeting key stakeholders, parents and other community members such as teachers, law enforcement agencies, and students to enhance their understanding of the socio-legal and psychological aspects related to POCSO. These programs aim to empower educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize signs of abuse, respond appropriately to disclosures, deal the cases of POCSO with sensitization and through preventive measures create safe and supportive environment for children.
Spreading awareness on mental health and child sexual abuse: Daat Foundation is conducting webinars on this issue to spread awareness on the issues related to it.
Volunteer Program: 1st Virtual Volunteer program on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences was conducted in July, 2024 and around 40 students from 5 states participated in this programs to spread awareness and sensitization on matters connected with child sexual abuse.
Capacity building program was conducted with the coordination of District Child Protection Unit, Kapurthala on POCSO.
Training program for teaching and non-teaching staff of schools on POCSO: The Foundation has conducted these programs in around 10 schools of Punjab and we sensitize more than
Collaboration with university for holistic approach towards child protection system: We in collaboration with Tantia University, Sri Ganganagar conducted a National Workshop in 2024.
Awareness and sensitization programs in colleges: These programs are conducted in B.ed and Law colleges to spread the awareness among students.
Campaign against child sexual abuse in colleges.
Awareness through social media like podcasts and interactive videos.
Through awareness and sensitization program in schools and colleges, we have approached and interacted more than 800 persons offline and 100 persons through webinars including teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders.
These are the steps taken by the Foundation since its inception (February, 2024).
The Daat Foundation aims to create an integrated, child-focused approach to promote not only child protection but also the sustainability of resources that children will depend on in the future. By developing a strong policy framework, ensuring the holistic development of children, and actively working towards environmental sustainability, the Foundation will foster a healthier, safer, and more equitable future for all children.
