Dr. Anitha Ramachander is the Academic Director at Institute of Health and Management, Australia. With experience of over 26 years in the conceptualization, development, and deployment of solutions, she has been successful in managing the gamut of management education. She is an excellent mentor and coach, training Postgraduate students from Business and Tech schools and has been successful in molding them. She was instrumental in establishing several institutions and introducing various courses as tie-up programs. She has proven leadership skills gained from managing various large departments through her problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills. She regularly writes on HR related issues in a leading newspaper.
With strong knowledge in current industry trends, she has authored books, numerous research articles and conducted conferences, seminars, and workshops at national and international levels. Late Shri Rajiv Gandhi, Prime Minister of India appreciated her poem, ‘The year of peace’ written in the year 1986. She was one of a four member team for the Group Study Exchange program in Kentucky, USA in April-May 2004 and was conferred the PAUL HARRIS FELLOWSHIP in USA, the highest award of Rotary International, in recognition of outstanding participation, as the best ambassador of India. She is a recipient of the International Achievers’ Award 2010-2011 for Education Excellence. The Award was conferred on the occasion of the 4th International Achievers’ Summit on “Global Business Opportunities” in Singapore. Indian Achievers Forum in association with Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) and India-Thai Chamber of Commerce honors outstanding achievers from India and abroad. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Women Achievers’ Award 2013 conferred by PRCI, ISBR and Chambers Academy Foundation. She was a recipient of the Outstanding Educator at South India Women Achievers Award (SIWAA), December 2019. Dr Ramachander has worked and made a niche for herself by successfully managing her team to realize the vision, mission and objectives of the institutions she headed. Her innovative thinking and leadership skills have transformed institutions to be the most sought after for the programs she developed. She has to her credit, 82 publications that include research papers, write-ups, and books. Dr Ramachander is associated with several universities and organizations in India, USA and Australia for tie ups and collaboration programs. She is the Chairman, Board of Examination for Alagappa University and the PhD Supervisor for Bangalore City University and Bharathiar University. She is the PhD examiner for leading institutions like Christ, Jain, Symbiosis University, University of Madras, Anna University and many more.
She strongly believes that we should take care of employees at work, and they will make sure the organization reaches the summit. She has established policies and procedures to enable people to excel at work. In her previous assignment, she set up a Business Lab to help students understand real life business experiences and has introduced several courses to upskill their employability skills. She has been the founder and editor of an international journal for 13 years and has established a research cell.
Dr Ramachander believes that a student should be empowered to think and choose the best opportunity and not thrusted upon to be successful. Her teaching philosophy percolates in four levels-individual, organizational, social, and transcendental levels. She introduced a series called ‘Beyond the classroom sessions and the EDGE Clinic to make students employable.
During her tenure at Adarsh Institute of Management and Information Technology, AICTE funded the set-up of the Entrepreneurial Cell and also sponsored research on studying the well-being of auto-drivers in Bangalore. She has set up the Atal incubation centre at AIMIT. She has been a part of several boards in various capacities. She is also an ad hoc reviewer at IBFR, USA. At AMITY Mauritius as the Dean, she designed and introduced four new MBA programs and formulated the Strategic plan as well. Dr Ramachander served as the Vice Chairman of Karnataka- Kerala chapter of Association of Indian Management Schools and is on the advisory board for several institutions. She firmly believes that there is no force more powerful than an individual determined to rise. The greatness of a person is in always being authentic. Integrity and the ability to affect those around positively makes an effective and long-standing leader.
