Ankurita Pathak’s life has always been woven with words. Beginning her writing journey at the age of eleven, when her first poem was published in Northeast Times, she has since transformed her passion for storytelling into a central part of her professional life. Currently, as a seasoned communications specialist and Additional Director at FICCI, Ankurita combines her love for writing with a career focused on impactful communications and advocacy.
Ankurita has consistently contributed to creative and professional writing across multiple genres, including poetry, articles, travelogues, and short stories. Her work appears in reputable publications such as Assam Tribune, The Sentinel and Mystic Aura, as well as in various anthologies. She has co-authored over 15 poetry and short story collections, including Concerns & Voices, Daffodils, Pristine Scars, Dreams, Days Passed, I Am Woman, Quiescent Verses, and GloMag. These works showcase her exploration of themes like resilience, transformation, and the human spirit—narratives that resonate with a broad audience.
One of her notable works, Black Coffee & Metamorphosis, a coffee table book co-authored with her brother Ankuran Pathak, combines evocative photography of Northeast India’s landscapes with poetry that speaks to the soul. Divided into three chapters—Broken Boulevard, Sea of Stories, and Lavender Mornings—the book takes readers on a journey from struggle to peace, symbolizing transformation and acceptance.
Black Coffee & Metamorphosis was recognised as one of Hoppingo’s top curated coffee table books, alongside celebrated titles like Masterpieces of Indian Art by Alka Pandey and National Geographic Rarely Seen, solidifying its place as a visually and emotionally captivating work.
In 2021, Ankurita contributed to the prestigious project History of 175 Years of Media in Assam and Beyond, a commemorative edition celebrating the journey of media in Assam that began with Orunudoi’s first issue in 1846.

She has been a key contributor to transformative publications including knowledge papers, newsletters, Annual Reports and a Compendium of 100 Women in MSME. Her pen brings FLO’s mission to life in reports, advocacy materials, and inspiring stories.
Ankurita Pathak had the honor of representing FICCI FLO at Heilbronn University in Germany, where she spoke about the organization’s initiatives and its commitment to empowering women. It was on the invitation of the Federal Republic of Germany for a prestigious business and study tour under the Visitors Programme of the Federal Government in 2024. Ankurita has also represented FICCI FLO in several international business delegations to countries such as South Korea, South Africa, Israel, Jordan, Estonia, Finland, Sweden, Latvia, and more, further advancing the organization’s global outreach and advocacy for women’s empowerment.
Ankurita Pathak, a proud alumna of Cotton College, known as the Centre of Excellence in Northeast, holds a postgraduate degree in English from Delhi University and a PG diploma in Print Journalism. A committed lifelong learner, she has continually expanded her horizons through a variety of educational pursuits, including a leadership program at IIM Calcutta and a certification in French.
She is also a TEDx speaker, certified Life Coach, and a lover of food, fashion, people, and poetry. A travel enthusiast, coffeeholic, cynophile, and an avid fan of South Indian films and K-dramas, Ankurita believes in the transformative power of words, which she uses to connect deeply with others and inspire positive change.
