She has proved that with dedication and hard work, anything is possible, and that the true measure of success is not in the position you hold, but in the lives you touch.
She earned a degree in Master of Philosophy in English, showcasing her expertise in advanced research in English Literature. She further expanded her skill set by earning a Certificate in Business Communication from Symbiosis, Pune, highlighting her understanding of effective communication in professional settings.
A casual visit to Alliance Francaise Chandigarh led Shivani to discover the beauty of French Language. She pursued her interest by obtaining a certificate in French DELF B2 from the prestigious Alliance Francaise in Chandigarh. This milestone marked the beginning of her tryst with the language. As she delved deeper into the world of French, her fascination grew and today she is a dedicated French trainer, guiding students who are preparing for the DELF exam.
Her professional journey to becoming a renowned educator began in 2003, when she started teaching English at Arya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Shahabad. She was just 22 years old, fresh out of college, and eager to make a difference. Over the next few years, Shivani taught at various colleges, including S.D. However, as she stood in front of her college students, Shivani couldn’t shake off the feeling that she was meant to do something more. She realized that the true magic of education happens when minds are young and curious, when the foundation of a lifetime of learning is being laid. And so, she made the bold decision to leave the comfort of her college career and venture into the uncharted territory of school education.
Many questioned her decision, seeing it as a demotion, a step backward in her career. But Shivani knew that this was her true calling. She was determined to make a difference in the lives of adolescents, to be the guiding light that would shape their future. Her passion for teaching school children led her to pursue a Bachelor of Education from Punjabi University, equipping her with the necessary skills to impart knowledge effectively. Shivani embarked on a new chapter in her journey, joining The British School, Mohali, as a Teacher in English and French. The transition was not easy, but her passion and dedication soon earned her the respect and admiration of her students and colleagues. She soon became a beloved teacher, known for her innovative teaching methods and her unwavering commitment to her students’ success. As a debate and declamation coach, Shivani has successfully trained students to articulate their thoughts, express themselves confidently, and develop strong public speaking skills. Her guidance has helped students excel in interschool competitions, showcasing their talent and poise on stage. In 2022, she earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching of English from the Regional Institute of English, Chandigarh, further solidifying her expertise in language teaching methodologies. This certification showcases her ability to design engaging lessons, develop language skills, and assess student progress.
