The Film and Television Promotion Council (FTPC) of India, led by its President Chaitanya Janga, and its executive committee have embarked on a significant visit to Sri Lanka to organize the Indo-Sri Lanka Cinema Exchange Summit 2023.
The president and his committee members revealed the details of their visit to Sri Lanka here on Tuesday, According to them, During their visit on July 20, they met with several eminent figures, including Ministers Sathasivam Viyalanderan, State Minister of Trade, Commerce & Food Security, Vajira Abeywardena, Member of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Nalin Perera, Director General – of the Ministry of Tourism and Land, and Chandana Wickramaratne, Inspector General of Police, along with other dignitaries.
The primary objective of this visit was to extend opportunities in the film and tourism industries between the two nations. The speakers stressed that the Indo-Sri Lanka Cinema Exchange Summit 2023 promises to open new horizons for both nations in the film and tourism sectors, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange that will further enrich the world of cinema.
The Sri Lankan ministers expressed their delight at the initiative to bolster the Sri Lankan film industry and eagerly embraced the idea of exchanging technology, business collaborations, and promotional activities. FTPC India’s President, Chaitanya Janga, emphasized the vision to expand Indian cinema across the globe, irrespective of the country’s size. This expansion would not only benefit the Indian cinema market and tourism but would also foster mutual knowledge sharing among nations.
“We aim to share knowledge and foster business collaborations on an international scale,” stated Chaitanya Janga. He further revealed that the Indo-Nepal Summit had been a resounding success recently, with Nepali film actors acknowledging FTPC’s efforts and expressing their eagerness to work in Indian films. President Chaitanya emphasized that FTPC India is dedicated to propelling Telugu cinema to the global stage, cementing its presence in the world of filmmaking.
The Indo-Sri Lanka Summit is planned to take place in Colombo in the coming months, with immense support from the Sri Lankan government, as shared by the Secretary of FTPC India, VS Varma Pakalapati. FTPC India is diligently working towards organizing further summits, including the Indo-Bangla, Indo-Malaysia, and Indo-Dubai Emirate summits, one after the other.
Recently, under FTPC India, 101 legendary personalities from 16 states were honoured with the prestigious NTR Legendary National Awards in diverse fields, securing a place in the esteemed World Book of Records. As part of the Azad Amrit Mahotsav, ASR Pan India in collaboration with state governments, various talents from 16 states were recognized, including Alluri Sitaramaraju, in an endeavour to celebrate and commemorate historical achievements.
