In today’s rapidly evolving world, personality development has become an indispensable aspect of a student’s holistic growth. It encompasses essential life skills such as effective communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability, empowering students to confidently express themselves, build meaningful relationships, and make informed decisions.
In today’s fast-paced, high-pressure world, prioritizing mental health has become more crucial than ever. The relentless demands of modern life, coupled with the constant bombardment of social media, can lead to overwhelming stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.
Prachi and Smriti Bhatia conducted a workshop on ‘Mastering Your Mind, Mastering Your Life’ at the Army Institute of Education, Greater Noida. The participants included B.Ed students nearing completion of their course, as well as faculty members.
The workshop was highly interactive, with enthusiastic participation from both students and faculty. They asked insightful questions, making the session extremely fruitful.
The sessions covered topics such as building personality, focusing on career development, and overcoming life’s challenges. The key takeaway was that while challenges are inevitable, practicing the right techniques and strategies can help manage them effectively.
There were strategies explored for overcoming life’s challenges and discussed the importance of introducing oneself confidently and concisely, within 30 seconds. Storytelling was a key theme, as it’s an effective way to engage people of all ages, especially students.
Students learnt about the power of body language in a fun and engaging way. We saw how awkward gestures and postures can be amusing, but also how positive body language can boost confidence – not just for ourselves, but also for those we interact with.
Activities are an effective way to learn, and we incorporated numerous ones to demonstrate how to manage stress, and how our thoughts impact our overall well-being, including physical, mental, and emotional health. They also explored how diet influences mental health.
Life is a mix of joys and challenges. While we can’t control everything, we can choose how we respond. This workshop focused on tips and techniques to help us navigate life’s problems, which ultimately make us stronger. – Says Smriti.
The core focus was on experiential learning, shifting away from theoretical concepts like charts, surveys, and statistics, which are typically covered in regular education classes. Instead, we aimed to provide practical, actionable tips that participants could easily incorporate into their daily lives, making the learning experience more relatable and applicable.
They also discussed real-life scenarios, sharing personal experiences and insights as coaches, while students and faculty members also actively participated and shared their own situations. The students openly discussed various challenges they face in school, college, and their personal lives at home, seeking guidance on how to navigate these situations and improve their overall well-being. They focussed on creative and engaging methods, such as enactments, to help participants understand and practice the concepts, making the learning experience more interactive and memorable.
The institute’s dedication to growth and development is clear. They are adaptable, open to new techniques, and committed to adding value to their students’ lives. It’s a truly collaborative environment where everyone can grow together. The Principal Dr Abhilasha Gautam with her faculty, especially Ms Komal, have a great vision for the institute. They are providing the students all that is required to be equipped for today’s world. The students are creating hands on via gardening a beautiful herbal garden, hand painted marvels on the walls, yoga lawn and much more to add to life skills.
They also extend gratitude to Dr. Divakar Goyal, who played a key role in connecting us with the college for this workshop.
Ultimately, reactions and responses shape lives. It was a rewarding experience to see both sides engage in meaningful conversations, making the workshop enjoyable and worthwhile.
