Why you wanted to be an author and poetess?
Poetry came to me as by chance. During college days I used to write jingles and 4liners for posters. It all started from there. Rhyming word for word was poetry for me. Then one day my daughter said.. ‘Ma, if you could write anything which reasonates with people I would feel so proud of you. That was a turning point of my life that as we want to feel proud of our childrenz even they want to feel the same. Thus..began the never ending journey of words.. Began a poetic Saga which became the most beautiful thing to have happened to me. Author/poetess these are mere terms, it is important to express and that is what I love to do!
Please tell us your success story right from your initial stage of career to being the founder of Rang Saree?
Well! When you ask a woman her journey, she comes in phases. One when she is the princess in her paternal home then a queen in her marital home and then finally arrives a time when she starts living for herself.
As poetry set me on a journey of self p exploration, little did I know where I was headed to.
The pandemic came to me as a boon and I opened a window to the world… the internet opened a plethora of opportunities. I started reciting online, writing poems and articles, participated in online events, practiced power yoga, did diplomas and pursued courses. Each day I felt the urge to learn something new. I felt like a kid who wanted to do it all and participated in competitions and won them too.
I was crowned in a couple of beauty pageants and also became the Face of the magazine! Each day renewed confidence filled my heart and by and by my treasure trove had enough poems to be bound in 6 books. Each one a sound of my own heartbeat!
I started my journey of writing and editing for a couple of magazines which lead to publishing my magazine. Then I the felt a need to start a venture of my own and Let Oorja Talk was born!
Being associated with poetry groups, literary groups I got an insight to how people express themselves. Accolades started pouring in and with each felicitation it made me more confident.
Having the opportunity to moderate events in Universities is one of my favourite outing, when you are among the youth, you feel like one and the contagious energy made an everlasting impact.
It came as a huge boost to me when I was taken as a positive impact and became a speaker on platforms where I was asked to spread positivity and happiness.
The journey has just begun and I am loving every nano second of it!
I have a journey to begin
My attache case
I have packed
Renewed radiance
Happy hopes
Daring dreams
Sugary smiles
All in abundance
Neatly arrayed my
Self esteem
Self belief
And a whole lot of Oorja
For munching
I stacked unfelt emotions
Ideas
Memories
Self analysis I tucked on top
I was fairly ready
And of course
Preparedness seemed almost complete
I started with full zest.
As I looked back
No smiling faces
To wish me luck
No Happy gudbyes
No waving hands
Just a sad trail of emptiness
I felt forlorn
A silent thought cringed me inside
Wanted to retreat
Was this journey worth
Anything at all
Summoned my thoughts
I shrugged my shoulders
Nudged my conscience
..this is my new beginning
A journey of self exploration
You are a multi talented person actively working in various creative fields. How challenging it is for you to excel in various creative streams?
When you Love what you are doing and frequently thrown challenges to test you and give you an opportunity to explore new horizons, why not give it a go. When I have nothing to lose and only to gain experience, that is the best thing to happen. I try and go into self management so that each field that I am working be given equal importance and my 💯 effort.
Which is your favorite stream in the creative field and why?
Recitation gives me that inner bliss. I love to recite , nothing more endearing than to voice your own creativity, and performing in the presence of an unknown audience is an altogether new hype.
You are an empowered woman. How do you define women empowerment in the present scenario?
We women are already empowered, but sometimes we need that little push or that wake up call to make us realise our strength. When we say that we women need to be empowered, it only indicates that they are weaklings who need help but what we are looking at is support and guidance!
What are your priorities for social work for women as brand ambassador in your city?
Social work, is being compassionate about the world that you live in. One needs to be contented within to spread happiness and extend that helping hand. Be that Midas touch for whomever you can reach out to. It is not always financial support one is looking for, a kind word or even an endearing smile is enough to make anyone happy. I believe that social work should be done in complete silence and not be advertised to garner appreciation. Having done, forget and move ahead to find other venues where you can make yourself worthwhile.
You are a celebrity in the field of modeling. What are the qualities of a successful model?
I wouldn’t call myself a celebrity, just a lesser mortal who wants to live life beautifully.
Do things that make you feel confident and when you look at the mirror fall in love with the image that you see. No makeup or designer coture can make you look glamorous untill you are enlightened from within. Let your nature and strength of your character define you. Let there be an enigma about yourself making you charismatic!
You have participated in national and international literature festivals. What are your achievements you feel proud of?
Having performed on various literary festivals, it is an enriching feeling to listen to enlightened souls and also their piece of mind helps to evolve mentally. The most interesting event was during an event which had the likes of educationists and dignitaries from all across the country and guests from international shores as well. Just before I stepped on the I was a little aware of my surroundings but the momemt I stepped on the podium, I felt it is my playground. That was the time I felt now I have arrived!
How can creative women achieve success when they do not get support from the family and society?
We are not always lucky to find support in our family to pursue our hobbies. That shouldn’t stop us from nurturing them. We must constantly polish our creativity and in a tender way make our family understand that letting our creative juices flow is a productive way to keep ourselves busy and is also a stress buster. In a day if we do at least onething for ourselves which brings a smile to our face, I think we have achieved our goal. Family will soon reciprocate to your vibes and come along. Take pride in what you do and include them in your endeavours, make them feel that their input helps her to improve. Attach them with your work and happiness and trust me they will feel good about it and so will you.
What is the central idea of your popular book “Shades of Emotions?”
When we pick up an emotion, it is like a piece of puzzle significant in its own special way, pegging holes, completing, fixing surfacing in a prominent role.
Let us not allow anyone to erode our sanctity of thoughts and sanity of mind. Realise the super power that we are nurturing our tenderness, be our tremendous self, let go off all pain and help to heal within. Disallowing any negativity to seep in to our system lingering in our heart bringing down to slime.
We are the Heroines of our dreams, let us for once own it like a Diva, the world is our stage, creating our own Divine aura proclaiming each nano second of our existence making it worthwhile.
Remembering that we are loved, being cared for, understood, cherished and most desirable.
We can breathe Life into anyone with an endearing smile with each passing moment. Be that sunshine, that light drizzle, the after showers, the serenity of dusk, the quietude of the night, the promise of a new dawn, the consoling warm winter sun, be your own inspiration.
When we are the whole galaxy why settle for anything less. The nuclei of everything that surrounds us intensifying, magnifying amplifying in our inate elegance, irresistible charm, winsome beauty, larger than life attitude.
Be the emotion that one wants to be attached to, unchained melodies one would listen to in a loop. Be the unforgettable warmth of the first hug, the yearning of the first date, the coyness of the maiden kiss. Believing in ourselves…being everything beautiful that we wish to be, dreaming beyond ponder and yonder ..be the pure that we are, sublime resplendent!
Gratitude To You Proffering my salutations To the Soul Divine Renouncing the impotent worldly emotions As I Surrender my futile thoughts An awareness surrounds me in frail fervour Consciousness losing itself meekly to the undefined profoundness A smile plays on my lips in angelic contentment Shielded sheltered, merging my corporeal self to the pious Intervention!
What are your responsibilities as a head, department of arts, Anuragam.Which kind of personalities you introduce in “Kala yatra magazine”?
As the head of the department of Arts, it is my responsibility to bring in new ideas and connect to the artists from all across the globe, be it from the field of art, poetry, dance or photography. We keep organising various events so that there is constant flow of creativity. We also organise exhibitions and competitions on international level so that we all connect globally.
Director of the magazine LitroFashionate, as it is a unique blend of Literature and Style, I love to bring in this magazine an undefined uniqueness.
Kala Yatra Magazine has a total Indian feel to it. We pick up one state at a time and focus on its rich cultural heritage, it’s folklore, costumes, poets, monuments and everything that personifies that particular state. Kala Yatra is pivotal in relating us to our roots and get an insight to what real India is!
What is the response from the viewers to your digital show “let oorja talk”?
Let Oorja Talk is an initiative close to my heart! It was a pandemic baby. The first series that I started was with doctors, a time when doctors stopped breathing for themselves and were bent to serve the society. Let Oorja Talk was an initiative to let doctors live their life and be candid about their passions and hobbies which kept them ticking. It became an instant hit with them as they lived, laughed and performed their hearts out in those 60 mins of the show. We had doctors singing, reciting, stand up comedy and even a dance recital!
What more could I have asked for! We had viewers asking me to start a series on engineers and CA’s as well!
Are you an introvert or an extrovert by nature?
Introvert is my word! Though I love to have different shades to myself and compose when needed. But celebrating Life as it comes is my style of keeping alive and kicking!
In the field of creativity and social service there is certain criticism too, how do you handle the same?
Let’s call it a positive criticism and take it in your stride. Of course I do get unnerved sometimes and go into self assessment. If I have done my work with full honesty and not hurt anyone’s sentiments, then I don’t care about what people are saying. There is always a clan whose sole duty is to pull others down and unfortunately I don’t give them any footage so they gradually fade away! My family should be proud of what I am doing and seriously that is what matters to me!
Who inspired you the most in your life?
Inspiration comes from everywhere. Each element of nature is bestowed and unique in its own special way. As you meet people you understand their profoundness and each one becomes your inspiration. Pointing out any one single person would be injustice to others. My heartfelt gratitude to all those who touched my life in so many different ways!
You have achieved various prestigious awards for your excellent work. What is the importance of these awards in your life?
Felicitations and awards are an indication that you are being accepted and acknowledged for your dedication and efforts that you have put in work. That you are heading towards the right direction and are executing your responsibilities towards the society in the best possible ways When you are at a pedestal where people can see and hear you, one should payback to the society and evolve as a human being!
You are always fit and energetic with your natural smile, what is the reason behind your positivity and fitness?
My pen name is Oorjanidhi! I rechristened myself and trust me, you become your name! When I started writing Oorjanidhi, I wasn’t really aware that it would shape my personality and build my character as well! People started resonating with me .. my name. I then understood the power it holds the energy it exudes and the positivity it infuses. Each day I find new reasons to smile and it slowly became a permanent fixture. To be happy or not is all in the mind, strongly believing in the fact that when you start looking at life in a fairer light, it gradually becomes pristine, leaving behind any toxicity and negativity.
When it comes to fitness, I am devoted to Power yoga and inclined to running too. Playing cricket also comes to my agenda. There was a time when life put me to test and I was challenged by Frozen shoulder. An year of physical and mental stress got me thinking that health is my utmost wealth. When life slowly got back to track, I had learnt my lesson.
